Linda Moon Bridges

Linda Moon Bridges, 84, of Atlanta, Georgia died Saturday, November 16, 2024. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. The service will take place at Northside Drive Baptist Church, 3100 Northside Drive NW, Atlanta, GA 30305.
Linda was born in St. Petersburg, FL on September 20, 1940, where she spent her childhood before moving to Atlanta at 14. She attended Druid Hills High School in Atlanta, graduated from Georgetown College in Kentucky and then Southern Seminary where she earned a Master of Arts in Christian Education.
She married Gene Bridges in 1966 in Savannah, GA where they lived for several years and were active members at Bull Street Baptist Church. They moved to Atlanta in 1972 where Linda became an active member at Northside Drive Baptist Church for many years. At Northside Drive Baptist Church, Linda started a Mothers Morning Out preschool program and with her husband Gene was instrumental in the creation of the summer camp Dayspring, an outreach day camp for children in the community. In 1978, Linda joined The Day School at Sandy Springs Christian Church where she was the director for 35 years. She impacted thousands of young children in the north metro area during her time at The Day School, creating an environment that encouraged learning, acceptance, and kindness.
She had an immeasurable love for her family, her precious grandchildren who brought her boundless joy, and she had a soft spot in her heart for all dogs and cats who came her way. Linda was full of life and had a sweet, spicy spirit and the most beautiful big blue eyes. She had a love for all people and went out of her way to always care for others.
Thank you to the staff and caregivers at Arbor Terrace of East Cobb, now Regal Pointe, for their love, care, and laughter over the past three years. They took amazing care of Linda.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother and father, Belle and Hiram Moon.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse Eugene Bridges, her sister, Susan Halterman and husband Arnie, her brother, John Moon, her daughter, Lisa Kathryn Bridges, her daughter, Kara Bridges Searcy and husband Ed, and her grandchildren, Addie Bridges Searcy, Ethan Lott Searcy, and Olivia Susanne Searcy.
