Blanca “Nana” Zoretic
Blanca H. Zoretic, who was known as “Nana” by her grandkids, departed her loving family on March 3, 2021 after a long battle with metastatic cancer. She was 65 years old.
It would be wrong to say that Blanca lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. She was a warrior! No matter how sick she was, she was always determined to live life to the fullest. Blanca stayed strong until the very last moment. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looks like. There was no quit in Blanca. Her presence and fond memories will never be forgotten.
Blanca was born February 6, 1956, in Chihuahua, Mexico, a daughter of the late Soledad Portillo Reyes and Lisandro Navarro Jimeno. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Lisandro Antonio Navarro Portillo and Roberto Horacio Navarro Portillo.
Blanca was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana. Prior to her role as Nana, Blanca worked for Frito-Lay North America where she earned the PepsiCo President’s Ring of Honor; an achievement she was most proud of. When not caring for her grandchildren, Blanca loved traveling the world. Her most recent trips included a camel ride by the Great Pyramids and witnessing the pure wonder of the Sahara desert and Argan tree climbing goats in Morocco.
Blanca is survived by her daughters Stephanie Briles and husband Jim, Laurie Lieberman and husband Adam. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Brayden Briles, Braxton Briles, Campbell Lieberman, and Scarlett Lieberman.
Aside from the children she doted on, Blanca is survived by sisters Maria Eugenia Navarro Portillo, Sandra Patricia Navarro Portillo, as well as a host of loving friends and relatives.
A private service will be held at Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic Church.

Blanca was a beloved friend. She adored all of you. Our last visit was at the new house – she was thrilled to be taking care of those boys! I will miss her very much and will cherish the memories.
Her smile would light up the room when she entered it! I will miss seeing her and miss watching the love that she had for her grandchildren and her beautiful daughter Stephanie!

So sorry to hear of Blanc’s passing. She loved her two girls, when we dated and through our everlasting friendship she always had y’all in her heart ! I have two daughters also. We would joke my Stephanie and your Stephanie, and she was very sweet to my younger daughter as well! Her zest for like was amazing !! We always had laughs abc good times in our travels!! Blanca my dear friend it’s been two days and I’m just starting to realize you’re not here anymore and I can’t stop crying. We were friends for 35 years, I learned so much from you, always smiling and loving your family so much. Who will I now call at 6 or 7 in the morning for advice knowing she would always answer even if it was to say I’ll call you later. We had so many good times and adventures and you were always so full of life and of course the best looking one. I will always remember you and yes Blanca accesories make all the difference in our outfits!! Love you my friend.
A beautiful lady inside and out. She was so kind and welcoming to everyone. Our hearts are with all of you.
I signed up for a meet up to play canasta (card game). The night I met Blanca changed my life. Here was a woman who was outgoing, fearless, and fun. We had a wonderful friendship, though too short but I will cherish every moment of it.
She had such a childlike laugh which always made me laugh. She was such a giving person and truly loved making other people happy. Quite a quality to have. Oh how she loved her family, always lit up talking about them.
So I raise a mug with a Moscow Mule in it as we always drank them together (fresh lime only) to my dear friend who I will miss every single day and will think of this quote whenever I see a star cause you were a bright star in this world. Now be a new star.
Perhaps they are not stars in the sky but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy
While I have only been in Blanca’s company twice at Stephanie and Jim’s, she had a way of making you feel as though you had known her much longer. Blanca will be remembered as a warm, outgoing, loving person who will be missed. My condolences to the Briles family.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Blanca’s passing. I was blessed to witness first hand the amazing passion she had for her children. It was some of my life’s most grateful moments to be able to share a home and family with her. Her warmth and caring will carry on in the hearts of those she touched and loved. I found out this morning through a mutual friend of Blanca’s passing. So sad to hear and I know her Family was very important to her, and especially the grandchildren. We had a lot of good times I’ll always remember and may she be an Angel watching over us.
