John Henry Pasley

John Henry Pasley of Atlanta, Georgia passed away peacefully at home November 19, 2023, at the age of ninety-one. He was born in Kingston, GA to Wyley Pasley, Jr., and Hattie Mae Barton. John Henry was raised by the late Solomon Pritchett Sr. and was the oldest son of twelve children.
After serving in the United States Army (Korean War), John Henry moved to Atlanta, GA where he met and married the love of his life, Clara Ann Reeves. In addition to John’s oldest daughter, four children were born to this union.
John Henry worked in the insurance and trucking industry. He later became an entrepreneur owning Amoco and Citgo gas stations, and a commercial/residential lawn care service. John Henry had a passion for gardening, cooking out, and doing special renovation projects. His work ethic, creativity, standard of high-quality, and love of nature and beauty is evident in his works and can be seen throughout Harvel Homes Community and in the cities of Atlanta, Greenville, and Chattanooga.
John Henry was a member of the Move of God Church where he served with the United Men of the Move (UMTM). The organization was established to promote Christian fellowship among brethren and glorify God. The UMTM believe in the active demonstration of agape love, service, and charity. John Henry served a term as President of UMTM.
John Henry was a strong, handsome, and debonaire man. When he smiled, he lit up a room. John was generous to all who came in his presence. Of his many accomplishments, John was most proud of his family and loved them unconditionally.
John Henry is preceded in death by his sisters: Lila Jean Pasley Elliott Carter and Joanne Pritchett. Brothers: Donald Pasley, Jal Bob Pritchett, Billy Earl Pritchett, Homer Dean Pritchett, Solomon Pritchett, Jr., Calvin Lee Pritchett, James Paul Pritchett, Melvin Pritchett, and Odell Pritchett. Daughter; Mary Katherine Coleman Crawford, and Granddaughter: Cheryl Coleman-Sturdivant.
John Henry is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Clara Reeves Pasley, Children: Mary Elaine Pasley Clarence, John Anthony Pasley, Cynthia Ann Pasley Richardson, and Reginald Pasley (Tiera). Brother: Tony (Marchelle) Pritchett. Sister-in-laws: Sarah Edwards, Mary (Coley) Parham, Charlene Pasley, Janice Pritchett, Shirley Robinson, Roxie Pritchett, Alberta Combs Jordan, Mary A. King, Barbara (Hayward) Williams, Thelma Kelser, Anita (Renaldo) Beatty, and Betty (Ray) Reid. Brother-in-law: Arthur Carter. Son-in- laws: Chuck Richardson and Clayton Clarence. Grandchildren: Christopher (Kate) Richardson, Miranda Richardson, Ellis Richardson, Malcolm Clarence, Najee Clarence, Morgan Pasley, Ryan Pasley, Richard (Kirsten) Coleman, Delores (Trampas) Wright, Tara (Edwin) Nelson, and Preshinda Crawford and a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, cousins, extended family, and friends.
